A Gamechanger in International Dispute Resolution: The Singapore International Commercial Court Rules 2021
27 September 2022 | 5pm - 6.10pm SGT | Webinar
Overview
Following a comprehensive review of the rules of civil procedure, the Singapore International Commercial Court (“SICC”) launched the Singapore International Commercial Court Rules 2021 (“SICC Rules 2021”), which were gazetted on 2 December 2021 and implemented from 1 April 2022.
A bespoke standalone set of procedural rules, the SICC Rules 2021 enhances the dispute resolution process in the SICC, with new procedures aimed at the expeditious and efficient administration of justice according to international commercial law, while providing for procedural flexibility through fair, impartial and practical processes. The SICC Rules 2021 is a gamechanger in the international dispute resolution landscape and introduces novel features to streamline procedural steps and increase procedural flexibility. This ensures that the SICC remains progressive and has procedures compatible with, and responsive to, the fast-changing needs and realities of international commerce.
In this webinar, hear from a panel of speakers and experts sharing their perspectives on the development and key features of the SICC Rules 2021, how these features facilitate the resolution of commercial disputes, as well as recent developments in the SICC such as the establishment of the Technology, Infrastructure and Construction List.
