SAL APPRECIATION DINNER & AWARDS NIGHT 2022

Hugs and warm handshakes were aplenty last week, as members of the legal profession gathered for the first SAL Appreciation Dinner & Awards Night held since the pandemic.

The dinner was a chance to thank the many members who contribute tirelessly to the various activities of the Academy. This year, five SAL members were also singled out for demonstrating the Academy’s core values of professional excellence, and service to the profession and community. Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon, who is also President, SAL, presented the SAL Merit Awards to Dr Stanley Lai SC, Mr Shen Yi Thio SC and Mr Jern-Fei Ng QC for their many contributions towards promoting and advancing the objectives of the Academy.

CJ Menon also presented the Singapore Law Merit Award to Prof Simon Chesterman for his efforts to develop Singapore law, and the Joseph Grimberg Outstanding Young Advocate Award to Mr Mahesh Rai, as recognition of his excellence and embodiment of both the Academy and Mr Grimberg's values.
