It was a memorable day for the new SAL members who were appointed Accredited Specialists and Senior Accredited Specialists in Building and Construction Law and Data and Digital Economy Law. Justice Kannan Ramesh, Chair of the Specialist Accreditation Board, gave recipients their Certificate of Accreditation and encouraged them to continue sharpening their knowledge and skills.

Speaking especially to the inaugural batch of Data and Digital Economy Law specialists, Justice Ramesh added, “(They must) provide the thought leadership that this exciting and exacting area of the law and commerce demands.” His remarks, which can be read in full here, touched on the value that such leadership offered in this nascent area of the law.
In this vein, SAL organised a discussion on emerging commercial and litigation trends in data sovereignty and digital assets, that ran before the specialist accreditation presentation ceremony. The session featured Mr Rajesh Sreenivasan (Rajah & Tann), Mr Bryan Tan (Reed Smith) and Ms Jennifer Koo (Google). Their discussion was moderated by Mr Yeong Zee Kin (IMDA/PDPC).
