Awards, Prizes and Scholarships

Increasing access, improving opportunity

At SAL, we believe in empowering legal professionals and fostering a community where talent and innovation thrive. Through our initiatives, we open doors to transformative opportunities, ensuring access to resources, education, and recognition for all who seek to excel in the legal field.

Undergraduate Scholarships

The SAL Undergraduate Scholarships are awarded to bright pre-university students from disadvantaged families to support their legal studies at local universities . We want to ensure that no financially needy student is denied the opportunity to read law. Awardees are also encouraged to participate in SAL programmes and committee work where they can interact with and learn from senior members of the profession.

SAL Post-Qualification Overseas Attachments

The Singapore Academy of Law Post-Qualification Overseas Attachments, inaugurated in 2011, expose deserving young lawyers to best practices in litigation or arbitration. The programme aims to raise the standard in these areas of practice in Singapore and also allow attachment awardees to serve as role models for other lawyers. Awardees spend up to 12 weeks with leading sets of barristers' chambers in London to gain international experience and exposure and are required to continue working in the Singapore legal industry for a minimum for 18 months in institutions approved by SAL after completing their attachments.
