Rama Tiwari ends his term as SAL Chief Executive

SINGAPORE, 6 February 2023 The Singapore Academy of Law (“SAL”) today announced that its Chief Executive, Mr Rama Tiwari, is leaving SAL on the expiry of his current contract. SAL will name its new Chief Executive in due course. Ms Serene Wee, who has been serving as Special Advisor to the President of SAL, will lead the day-to-day functions of SAL in the meantime as interim Chief Executive.

Mr Tiwari has been serving SAL for almost 4 years, with the last two years as Chief Executive.  During this period, he led SAL through several milestones of its digital transformation journey.  As he approaches the end of his current contract, he has decided that it is timely now for him to move on and has obtained approval from The Honourable the Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon, who is President, SAL for him to relinquish his duties after 7 February 2023.

His experience in the technology industry placed him in an excellent position to guide SAL and the legal profession through the digital transformation journey that was made all the more critical by the pandemic. His commitment to and vision for this process of transformation were the catalyst for SAL to reimagine how it can better support the legal profession of the future.
